About
We’re on the buyer’s side.
Compare ITAD is a vendor-neutral directory and editorial resource for organizations retiring IT hardware. Our job is to make the ITAD market legible to the people who have to buy from it — without taking money from the people they buy from.
What we do
A verified directory and independent editorial.
We build and maintain a directory of ITAD vendors across North America. Every vendor profile is compiled from public sources and cross-referenced against the certification registries that count — SERI's R2 Certified Facility Registry, the e-Stewards Certified Recycler Directory, and the NAID AAA Member Directory. Certifications we can independently verify are marked as such. Those we cannot are labeled self-reported, clearly and consistently.
Alongside the directory, we publish The ITAD Brief: plain-English reporting on compliance, data security, vendor selection, value recovery, and environmental responsibility. We write for the cross-functional group — IT, security, compliance, legal, finance, and sustainability — that has to own an ITAD program even when no single team formally runs it.
Who we are
Published by Xenco Labs.
Compare ITAD is owned and operated by Xenco Labs, an independent technology research and editorial group. We build reference resources for industries where buyers are under-served by vendor marketing and analyst paywalls.
Editorial is led by Marcus Holt, founding editor. Marcus covers compliance, data security, and vendor due diligence in the ITAD market. See his published work in The ITAD Brief.
How we make money
Disclosed, not hidden.
We earn revenue through referral fees, directory placements, and sponsored content in The ITAD Brief. None of these affect editorial coverage or directory completeness. Vendors cannot pay to be included, cannot pay for better ratings, and cannot pay to suppress or alter information about themselves.
Every active commercial relationship between Compare ITAD and a vendor is logged publicly on our commercial model page. The full sourcing and conflict-of-interest policy is in our methodology and editorial standards.
