Independence

Compare ITAD is an independent editorial publication operated by Xenco Labs. We are not owned by, affiliated with, or paid by any ITAD vendor, broker, OEM, refurbisher, or recycler covered on this site. Vendors cannot pay to be listed in the directory, cannot pay for higher placement or favorable badges, and cannot pay to remove or alter information about themselves.

Sourcing

Vendor profiles are built from publicly available information: company websites, regulatory filings, certifying-body registries (R2, e-Stewards, NAID, ISO), state e-waste registrations, court and regulatory filings, and reputable trade press. Every claim of fact in a profile is traceable to a primary source. Sources and the date of last verification are displayed on every vendor page in the provenance footer.

Verification

Certifications are verified against the issuing body's registry where one exists publicly. Where verification is not possible, the badge is shown as “self-reported” and labeled as such. Disputed or expired certifications are marked distinctly. Read the full process in the methodology.

Conflict of interest

Editorial staff and contributors do not hold equity in, accept payment from, or have ongoing consulting relationships with ITAD vendors covered on this site. Material outside conflicts are disclosed at the article and contributor level.

Sponsored content

The Site may carry sponsored placements (display creatives or cross-promotion to other Xenco Labs properties). Sponsored placements are visually distinct, labeled, and never influence editorial coverage, vendor inclusion, ranking, or badging.

Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this site may be affiliate links — meaning Compare ITAD may earn a commission if you purchase a product or service via the link, at no extra cost to you. Per the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guides, every affiliate link is clearly disclosed adjacent to the link itself, and is also marked with rel="sponsored" in the markup. Affiliate revenue does not influence editorial judgment.

Corrections

We publish corrections promptly when we get something wrong. Anyone — vendors, readers, or competitors — can submit a correction at /report-correction. We review every submission, follow up for sources, and either update the record (with a dated correction note) or respond with why we've declined.

Listing claims

Vendors can claim their listings at /claim-listing using a domain-verified work email. Claiming a listing lets the vendor propose updates and respond to corrections, but does not entitle them to control or remove independently sourced facts.

Generative AI

Generative AI tools are used internally for editorial drafting assistance and data extraction. Every published profile is reviewed by a human editor before publication. AI is not used to generate vendor scores, rankings, or factual claims that are not independently verifiable from cited sources.
